About Undead Cheese

This is my extremely informal blog where I write about, well, whatever I want.

I'm a computer science and animation student (I've graduated, but I am a perpetual student, always studying and taking courses) with minors in math+creative writing and big dreams, mainly to design theme park rides, create digital art, and write novels. I am also studying engineering on my own, mostly electromechanical, and who knows? Maybe I'll pursue it formally. I also love music -- both playing it and listening to it. My favorite band is Owl City, but I also have a particular affinity for gothic metal, hence the inspiration for this blog's title. And despite this enjoyment of dark music and literature, my favorite time of year is summer and I love sunshine and children's cartoons, so...go figure. That said, I think that the line between romanticism and cynicism is incredibly thin, and I walk a tightrope.

Unlike my main theme park blog, Amusement and Airtime, here I make no effort to write at any semblance of high quality, stick to any particular topic, or post according to any sort of schedule. I just spitball whatever I want, whenever I feel like it, and just see what happens. :')

Here are some random things that I may write about:

  • Programming, I.T., and hacking
  • Trying to get into the theme park/roller coaster industry
  • Engineering, especially of the software/computer/electrical varieties
  • Math, physics
  • Animation and art: drawing, digital: 2D, 3D.
  • Writing: fiction (fantasy especially if it involves dragons, sci-fi, horror, romance), poetry, fanfiction.
  • Complaining about winter and snow (for as long as I live in Utah, anyway)
  • Music (crappy and subjective song interpretations, playing music)
  • Running, my main sport and form of exercise (and hiking, weightlifting, swimming)
  • Meme dumps
  • Theme parks, roller coasters, zoos, aquariums, water parks, and carnivals
  • Fall fairs like Cornbelly's and Wilkerson Farm (RIP)
  • Cats
  • Disney
  • Various city parks where I take walks, read, eat food, and try to get on the swings if there are no children there :p
  • Gaming, books, fanfiction, webcomics, visual novels, TV shows (read: mostly cartoons), movies, the internet in general, social media, kids' toys (Legos, anyone?), and online forums.
  • GAME DEV
  • Other scientific topics that I find interesting: geysers, hot springs, dinosaurs, marine life, space and rockets...
  • Random tutorials about things that I found challenging, for personal documentation as well as to help others who may need it.
  • Dreams, imagination, imposition, paracosms, lucid dreaming, astral projection, reality shifting, and fantasy
  • Psychology (especially abnormal psychology), personality theory, and true crime
  • Productivity, study strategies, studying in general...
  • Cons (FanX, LTUE, SDCC)
  • Whatever else I'm currently obsessed with at the moment.
  • all/none of the above
  • etc.

Honestly, though, anything goes here. Again, very little, if any, semblance of structure or cohesiveness will exist on this blog. I may write every day, 512 times a day. I may forget to write anything at all for 10 years. Who knows?

The general link to all my creative work is on my portfolio website here, which will be getting a revamp in this year of our lord 2026. And my education and personal projects are all nice and organized on this curriculum page on GitHub.

I repeatedly forget that reality and world events exist, so don't expect much of that here. Unless it's related to computers or roller coasters or Disney or cons.

I will conclude with my two favorite memes of all time:

:D

"It never gets easier. You just get stronger."

"I wish that I could fly away."
