some quick progress updates for this week
Lift: This is going fairly well. All my workouts went well except for abs, because I was up late Thursday night and had to cut into workout time. My arms are still tiny, but progress is slowly moving forward. Every single muscle group is sore right now except my abs. So I think my hypertrophy programming is working.
Run: Even though we're pulling out of St. George this year, we are doing it next year. I am building a better base of (soon) 5 miles per day and 13-15 on weekends. The longest run I have ever done was this summer, 14 miles. Speedwork isn't happening much but that will change once the base is established.
Code: Need to pick up the pace on my master's degree and CG studies in general. Cybersecurity is going slowly but progressing daily (still doing the Google IT cert). Control studies have stalled somewhat. General compsci review is slow. I haven't been gaming much, but it's summer. I'll be doing a lot more in the months to come. Working on establishing a routine.
Render: Digital art is going better than ever before, I would argue, but still needs improvements. I've done nothing yet in my first year of Art Fight. I will finish up my character submission tomorrow, though it will suck, and then I'll do one attack. Will need to pick up the pace to be ready for Drawtober this fall. I've been watching cartoons almost every night and it's been doing wonders to keep me inspired artistically. I also still can't believe that True Beauty is over and am caught up on my webcomics.
Write: Been slacking on Camp NaNo but it's salvageable. Eternisummer has been tricky but I just need to hit a stride. I need to do some Serebii reviews and stop putting off my writing group readings until the last minute.
Practice: I've decided that I'm going to have to learn some basic composition for game dev. So continuing to sing and play instruments will help with this.
Ride: I finally did my first all-day Lagoon trip of the season, on Thursday. I've been going a lot, but only for mornings or half-days due to busyness and crap weather in June. It was AWESOME, but I am wiped out from it. My endurance and strength have definitely improved, but not enough! I visited City of Fun's carnival at Steel Days today with my cousin, though I was far too tired to ride anything. It was nice to be there and explore the carnival atmosphere. Monday was nice; I did the slides at the Lindon Aquatics Center.
I would like 110 minutes (90 art/code, 15 writing) minimum tomorrow to work on personal stuff, before the Barbie Movie and Cheesecake, which means that I will need to get back home at like 11 am from Splash Summit. We will see if this actually ends up happening. I'm wiped. I will do a quick prep this evening for my workout and for Splash. Tomorrow morning, I'd like to do a quick ab workout to make up for how poor today's was, before my long run. We will see if that actually happens. I'm actually not gonna game tonight. I want to, but again, I'm wiped. I am just gonna get ready for tomorrow, take a nice shower, then go to bed early and start hammering again tomorrow.
This week, I'd like to keep the athletic momentum, but slam hard into both technical and creative work. I also want to get at least 7h sleep per night, but 8 most nights. I also need to be more punctual to all events. It can be done and will.
