quick work break to mention that I finally have a kali distro installed again, as of this morning: 


I want to be a pentester, a software engineer, a technical artist/director, a graphics programmer, and an embedded engineer, all at the same time. 

(Oh and a novelist and illustrator with a longform narrative graphic novel style webcomic)

No, it doesn't make sense, but when you can't choose, you simply do all of them. I thought the "sacrifice to live this kind of life" that Straight Line Stitch mentioned was about giving up something that I love, or sleep, but no. It's none of that. It's just being stressed and realizing that you may not progress as fast as monomaths but I've also been surprising myself. 

Anyway, back to work. And getting FanX tickets at noon....if they don't sell out.

4w5 and 5w4: science and art

So enneagram theory IS pseudoscience, and has an uncomfortably large overlap with people who think that astrology is actually legitimate. However, reading the 4w5 descriptions as a high school senior / college freshman lent itself to such painful accuracy for me that I realized that there was probably much more to this theory than what was on the surface. As Owl City says, "life is quite surreal", and I wouldn't believe in God or soulmates or life on other planets if I took everything at face value. So, I study enneagram theory anyway, woo and all. Honestly, if it helps you (and it will), who cares.  So, 4w5 and 5w4.  People act like these two types are totally different, and as such, conducting a Google search on their differences gives you overtly simplistic explanations (4w5s are more EMOTIONAL and 5w4s are more INTELLECTUAL, no freaking shiz, Sherlock), or random crap like "if you identify with both, you're probably a 6 or a 9", which makes absolutely no...

How to open Faber-Castell Pitt Artist Pens

Oddly specific, but I spent way too much time awkwardly standing in Hobby Lobby trying to figure this out, so here we go.  First off, yes these are approved for Drawabox if that's what you're using them for. Get the letter F size, which is 0.5mm as recommended. That's why I bought them today.  Here is what the pen looks like unopened. My issue was that I was dealing with the pens that weren't pre-packaged.  Open the outer packaging, if applicable:  And now we see that looks can be deceiving, because we are going to UNSCREW THE WRONG END OF THE CAP. Yes, that's right, the smaller end of the pen is for ink refills, not drawing, and cannot be opened without pliers. The larger end is where the tip of the pen is, which is naturally counterintuitive.  And boom, it's opened. Hopefully, I saved someone else from standing stupidly for ten minutes in Hobby Lobby while trying to unscrew the wrong end of the pen.  THE END
