Song lyric of the day

Mirror, mirror I'll tell you something I think I might change it all From RWBY.

Pioneer day 🙁

I've never gotten this day off work, so I've never done anything for this holiday.  All the water parks and pools are closing early today at 6 pm. Scera, Lindon Aquatics, Splash Summit. So I actually have less opportunities to have fun now.  Except the AF pool actually. Might be able to do that. Or one of the other pools if I can leave work right at 4.  And the fireworks are going to keep me awake.  This holiday sucks.

I guess I should have played horror VR first

I'm very interested in the backrooms. This will be important momentarily. I was also very tired today, to the point where I could not get through all of my creative and technical blocks post-work. Idk why I was so tired considering that the CrowdStrike issue made work quite slow. I was falling asleep in front of the piano, barely did any sketching or writing, etc. I got on the hammock to read and almost conked out right then and there.  I thought going to the Sabrina Carpenter VR concert seemed cool, but there were a ton of people around and I was told I was going to meet my concert buddy, or something. Due to all this I actually got quite a bit of social anxiety? So I dropped out after about 2 minutes. Lol. Social anxiety in the Metaverse; who would have thought. I need to do something about this, but then again I've always struggled with unstructured social events and I didn't realize how crowded it would be (I should have; Espresso is a banger even though it's played...

Ohio.

In a word, WOW. Lake Erie is beautiful.  And Cedar Point is everything I hoped it would be. I’ll definitely be returning here often, likely every summer.  Yes, I did recover from the paraflu on time but I’m still sniffling a bit. Hopefully that’ll be gone by tomorrow. Chilling in my room with Starbie's but I've got to check out in 30 minutes. Hotel Breakers is fantastic, even if their gym has no dumbbells for some reason. I got upgraded to a suite for free due to an issue with my original room and it's lovely.  When I do theme park trips, I ditch my productivity blocks on major park days. It just doesn’t make sense to try and get stuff done after 14 hours at a park. I've also been off my eating plan since Wyoming. But this morning while getting ready, I felt inspired as hell to keep getting everything underway. I’ll get back on my cut for the final few weeks and run and do Art Fight and ALL the things. Hopefully my Delta flight will have WiFi so I can submit my writing ...

It's the 4th of July...

...and I'm inside, sick, instead of being outside and watching fireworks. Well, I might wander outside in a little bit, but I'm not with friends.  I wasn't feeling that bad in the morning. In fact I made it through 100 minutes of lifting (longer workout which I had planned in advance) and an 8-mile run, and I felt fine and only coughed twice. So I thought I was basically over it. I was wrong. I started feeling horrible at Lagoon. Sat down in the queue for the Wild Kingdom Express and actually thought I was going to pass out. Drove by all the cool animals and just wanted the ride to be over. The kangaroos were super active and it took me quite a few seconds to process it and I didn't take a pic. Likely hyponatremia (yet again) and some form of heatstroke, which I usually don't get especially in the 80s but I guess when you're already sick... I took an easy 1-mile walk on the Lagoon trail, which I usually do without effort twice a day at various locations, and I h...

trust in your SYSTEM

I'm tired.  Could just be the lack of caffeine today though. But I've been running myself ragged, flailing about trying to get a remote position where I don't have to work on the weekends.  And it's wicked. It's not fun. I have hardly gotten any positive responses. I did redo my resume, a little bit. But I'm frustrated. It's hard not to feel envious when LinkedIn says "congratulate Your Mom for 5 years at Random Company!"  I wish I could be at a company for even just 2 years... I've been doing my summer activities as usual, but have struggled to remain present. My workouts have been consistent, but my interview prep isn't (I keep applying and then not interview prepping because it's so hard to even get a response, which is bad). I haven't worked enough on my art, writing, or personal coding projects, or engineering studies, which is dumb because that's a huge part of the reason why I'm trying to get better work-life balance ...
