Benchmarks: being in the top caliber of what I do

Instead of focusing on being #1, I think it's better to focus on being in the very top caliber of what you do. It's more achievable and still quite impressive. Thus, one must simply define what being in that top caliber constitutes.

These are my targets now.

Distance running: Qualify for the Boston Marathon and race equivalently fast times for other distances from 1 mile to 26 miles.

Lifting (aesthetics): Get down to 10% body fat and then slowly get up to 155 pounds using lean bulks and cuts, and then reassess. Bonus for aesthetics: find safe acne and hair loss solutions.

Digital art: Have a high-quality portfolio and demo reel. Make some cash via Patreon (or similar) and do commissions. Sell webcomics. Have completed visual novels hosted on Steam or Itch. Finish all of my course list. Watch animation and play video games regularly.

Writing: Publish novels and poems, plus articles on theme parks and game development. Poems can be published in journals. Might try for short stories too. Read a ton. Have at least one foot in the classical/contemporary world, otherwise focused on sci-fi, fantasy, and horror. Win awards for my fanfiction reviewing and writing.

Music: Complete my list of songs that I want to play on clarinet and piano, and continue to practice them. Perform, play advanced parts, play in more competitive groups. I should be able to make my own music too.

Computer science: Complete my big list of courses AND programs to write, publish apps/websites/games, get the certifications I want, participate in CTFs and win.

Engineering: Self-study the content of electrical/mechanical engineering, finish the PLC dojo, become a math and physics wizard. Build my theme park virtually. Build some stuff by hand, like simple robots. Then I'll ascertain if I want another degree or not.

Gaming: Play daily. With Pokemon, I want to excel in some sort of competitive arena.

And this is the sequence I'll follow every day:

  • Lift (on off days, read lifting blogs)
  • Run (on off days, walk)
  • Art
    • Browse art

    • Drawabox

    • Cooldown with an idle, building, or exploration game
  • Watch (shows/movies)
  • Languages (Spanish and Japanese)
  • Dream/Meditate

This can take all day, or be compressed into as little as 10 minutes if it's a beautiful day like today and I just want to walk in nature for a long while :)

Another option is to speed through it on a busy summer Saturday and then go back to it later and do a slower version when I get home. So everything is at least touched upon, and more is done as a bonus.
