hell week is almost over

as in, 100% in-person week

I actually really like everyone on this team, but it's still HELL WEEK because driving to Nephi every single day (45 miles one way) plus having to deploy on a weeknight after you already deployed on Sunday night is...crap. I also had a concert on Monday (which admittedly was awesome, I love Weird Al) and company dinner on Tuesday and deployment on Thursday so I didn't get an evening to myself except for Wednesday, which was mostly staring into the void blankly while having a nice hot existential crisis and wondering what sort of loving god would curse me with such suffering.

The consequences:

  • There is an elephant graveyard of unread text and Facebook messages on my phone.
  • I only ran 7 miles today (all other days have been WAY less, sometimes only 0.25 miles) and have been in a 1000 calorie surplus most days.
  • I have had to split up every single workout to before vs. after work.
  • My longest lifting workout was 18 minutes.
  • I have broken my TrackBear streak for writing.
  • I broke my Finch streak and my Habitica HP dropped to...1.
    • Duolingo is barely intact. The owl will not murder me and my family yet. Though, death by owl is starting to sound preferable over going to work.
  • I have not broken past my art warm-ups all week.
  • I have not gone to any water parks or pools.
  • My apartment has crap all over the floor and it's filthy.
  • Same with my car.
  • I have been living out of 7-11. I have not gotten groceries.
  • I haven't been able to take an off day from caffeine and it's starting to not work.
  • I had to miss writing group (unplanned).
  • My dad's website, my friends' consultancy code, and my in-progress research paper haven't been touched.
Buuuut at least I got free food this week? And we did some fun activities?

Next week is full remote, thank goodness. Still, small comfort. It's going to feel like salvaging the wreckage of an explosion.

Yeah mate I've gotta find something else to pay the $ and I need a certain someone who lives with me to pay rent so I can actually save money. I'm exhausted. I'm not sure how I went from full remote at DreamWorks Animation to...Whatever is happening here.
