State of the Union: August 2025

Quick work break so: 

FITNESS

Going pretty well. My lifts aren't quite the 70-minute sessions I'd like them to be. I get 45-60 minutes right now. My Saturday sessions can improve. 

Running -- weirdly enough, no notes. I'll be peaking at 60mpw this marathon cycle. 

ART

I'm behind, but I've locked in a daily 1-hour block. I'd prefer 90 minutes, but an hour is still good. This is a non-negotiable. I need to also timebox, not spending too much time on warmups. 

I've been watching animation almost every night as well, but I need to add more movies into my rotation. Most of what I watch right now are series. 

WRITING

Also behind, but I've locked in a daily 45-minute block for reading and writing. I listen to audiobooks while cleaning too; about 60 minutes twice a week. 

Ideally, I'd add an extra 10 minutes after dinner and use that for my MVP reading. 

CODE

This block consists of: CS/SWE, Graphics, Games, IT/Cybersecurity, internet. It is the final block before bed. 

It's been happening! But graphics is way behind. I need to pick up the slack. I also have not worked on any games or played any consistently in the past few weeks, except for a few easy mobile games, but I will be very soon. I had to master the art and writing blocks first. 

I only kept my Tamagotchi alive for 7 days. 

MUSIC

Don't talk to me about this one. :V It's...touched on daily, at least. 

THEME PARKS (and bonus touching grass updates)

I am reviewing math and learning PLCs and embedded systems every morning before the gym. Working on my blogs, keeping up on industry news, designing my own resort, and just overall immersing myself in that world. 

Right now, the goal is "master PLCs and embedded but also get a strong enough ME foundation to where you have the equivalent knowledge of a minor, then reassess" and that's good enough for now. 

I am trying to spend more time outdoors at various parks and venues. This is a beautiful time of year for it right now. Maybe I will take a walk around the neighborhood at lunch today. I love touching grass. 

LANGUAGES

I'm slowly picking this one back up. I will need a lot more than just Duolingo, especially for Japanese, which is tough. But for right now? I'll stick to what I have. I am already pretty slammed. 

Spanish and Norwegian are happening. If I feel super elon musk hardcore gamer, I do some chess and Tagalog (since chess is already on Duo. Duo, if you are reading this, please add Tagalog and I swear I'll do more Japanese kana lessons D: )

IMAGINATION

I need to start up daily meditation again, even just the Breathe app on apple watch. I used to astral project every Sunday but I've been struggling to do that lately. Really, I need to be in bed by 10 PM at the latest on Saturday.
