Why are we still talking when there's science to do?

I do not understand why people get wrapped in cultural wars. Example: complaining about girls being in Boy Scouts or what restroom people use?

I hated Boy Scouts and quit as soon as my parents let me, so I don't care, but that's beside the point I suppose.

Like I could be learning more about neural networks, proving things in math, adding new coding languages to my repertoire, writing, worldbuilding, making art, studying new languages...but apparently I have to sit here instead listening to you complain about random cultural things.

How do you have the mental bandwidth to care? This is not a pointed question. I actually do not understand the psychology here. It doesn't make any sense. It's so stupid. Like, most days I try to do my 2 hour workout, and I study topics that interest me before and after that, then I have to go to work. then it's lunch break, but I still have to practice my music. okay, I'm off work now, now time to do creative work, read some fiction, maybe take a walk at the park or go swimming, oh now it's time for more studying and then maybe I will finish up with some games or anime or something.

We could be talking about evolutionary biology or abnormal psychology or the origin of stars and you care about "what is a woman" or Disney adults or "what it means to be a TRUE MAN BRO, THIS IS A GREAT USE OF MY TIME AND MENTAL BANDWIDTH" or some other walsh/peterson crap? Why? It's so stupid, and it doesn't make any sense. It makes me think you don't have enough compelling activities to fill your time.

Why would I need to care about whether or not I am "macho" when I am busy: coding, studying engineering, learning art, writing, reading, gaming, developing games, practicing and listening to music, building PCs, studying for certs, going to theme and water parks, running, lifting weights, walking, and having to manage real life on top of that? Oh, right, I don't because it is an irrational waste of time and mental energy.
