Take a freaking shower ya stinky animals 👃

Inspired by some post on r/hygeine where the OP was complaining about her husband being grossed out about her not showering daily, and about how he was wrong and she didn't need to shower daily. Because she...works an office job? Ah yes, because body odor is a capitalistic conspiracy and doesn't exist unless you do an ironman, amirite? And all the top comments were...agreeing? On...a...hygeine subreddit.

So, don't you...LIKE taking showers? They feel good. They're relaxing. I'm baffled. 

It's hard to believe those people are real sometimes. But, as they say...the nose knows. 

Let's be clear. If you don't shower daily, regardless of your lifestyle - yes, that is disgusting. 

I can't believe that has to be said. I assumed it was all implicit knowledge, and intuitive. But we all know what ASSUMING does. 

In the TMCB basement at BYU, some poor soul is stressing over their Systems Programming assignment, coding TCP/IP packets in C. They want nothing more than to go home, but the TAs are here, so stay they must. 

It already smells like sweaty feet mixed with microwavable pasta and despair, but now an Oort cloud of body odor is added to the stench as a distinguished lady or gentleman walks in to code their own lab, fresh from rolling out of bed without a single shower or spray of deodorant to be found. Our poor student chokes and gasps, but otherwise just hides their pain, playing it off as a cough. The TMCB is already Earth's manifestation of hell itself. Yet now they have truly entered an even lower circle of hell. In the distance, an Old Spice executive is weeping. 

Look, we all stink at times. I do after my afternoon walks in the summer. But there's a sort of accumulated funk from those who don't shower daily (or worse, in some cases, at all). Not showering is nasty. Not using deodorant and antiperspirant is nasty. Not brushing your teeth is nasty. Not flossing is nasty. I don't care how busy you are, you have time to take basic care of yourself. I pulled a few all nighters in college. stayed up until 9 am doing a lab, still brushed and flossed, slept for 5 minutes, took my SHOWER because I'm hygenic, and hauled ass over to Ethics at 9:30. 

I was late, but damn it I smelled good. 

Let us all aspire to smell better than the general Reddit populace.

6 hours and only 6 Lagoon rides?

Just saw this in a FB comment. That's really unfortunate for the family who experienced this. I usually go to Lagoon on the most crowded day of the week, Saturday, and I'm almost certain that I could beat that even in the middle of July (but maybe not October. People LOVE the Halloween/Frightmares post season) Like the general principles are pretty easy. Reflecting on major life goals yet again

And what I need to do daily to achieve them.  I feel like I write these a lot. I probably just need to find something that works and stick to it. Therein lies the rub, though. I have been steadily improving, but I still am not moving at what I would consider to be a "going to make it in a reasonable amount of time" cadence.  So, here we go again. I will keep iterating until I get something that sticks. Since I'm working tonight but not actively doing anything just yet while the code is deployed. And since I'm caffeinated on a Sunday, which is rare (and may take tomorrow off to reset the adenosine receptors).  Sundays are always a weak day for me. Hobble Creek Half: The slow passage of time marches us towards our inevitable death

or, how I almost died alone in a Honey Bucket porta potty (to be fair, if you are not alone in there that is kind of weird) and lost 3/4 of a summer Saturday and 1/4 of Sunday to dying in various toilets but at least got my Elite 100 medal hell yeah See, I couldn't PR because I had to finish in 6:21 pace. For the memes! * So, in June I ran the Timp Half. No issues. 1:23:55. Course PR. I slowed down after the initial smooth downhill out of the canyon, as designed. I felt a calf cramp coming on, so I slowed down just a tad, was fine, and didn't have to plod my way to the finish line. Runtastic Events always does a great job.  Then on Saturday I ran the Hobble Creek Half in 1:23:09 (so 7 seconds off my PR) and almost died. In fact, I am currently still dealing with the after effects of whatever just happened to my body.  Let us see exactly how the wheels came off:  It was BREAKFAST.
