State of me + cornbellys updates

Quick and fast. First off, it's been a weird few weeks for me. I still haven't left California after coming here after my layoff. I'll need to next week. But weirdly, despite the occasional conflict over "why are you not married yet, you need to get an in person job and go to FHE", it's peaceful here.

Still unhappy though. Nothing is going the way I'd hoped in my life. I should bounce back, I should say "you will not break me" and go hard, but I cannot seem to. Only for personal projects now. My trust in jobs and companies is gone forever and my interest in reality / the "real world" as a concept continues to decrease rapidly. The temptation to just mentally check out is strong. I have the ability to be extremely functional methodically while my mind is living completely detached from reality (deep within a fantasy) and I might enter that mode again soon.

Also the marine layer is both cool and depressing.

And I'm procrastinating things I need to take care of like logistics for next month's theme park trips, because I get to have money stress now. Thanks JSI, very cool. I definitely needed that

But anyway.

Three updates for Cornbelly's:

1. They've updated their Lehi opening to September 18. No surprises there. Lehi has never been a "hot fall" location, and it's always seemed to open after Spanish Fork.

2. Spanish Fork opening looks locked into Labor Day on Sept 7. If they keep narrowing their season that's really going to suck especially with Wilkerson Farm gone.

3. Insanity Point is now called Frightbelly's. 👀 Really hope I can get there this year. At some point I might just bite the bullet and start soloing full-blown haunts (not just the super tame Fun House of Fear and Frightville lol). My friends are great haunt buddies but it's very difficult to get them to actually commit to one.

I think it may not even be extended into November this year which sucks, it looks like both are closing after Halloween itself, but at least Lagoon's got us covered on that front.

Utah State fair is Sept 10-20 so it will overlap with bridgedays slightly.

Cherry Hill should have Sept 12 as closing weekend.

Funny how I went from "fall sucks, it's winter lite" to "fall is almost equal to summer in terms of my favorite seasons", like, it's my second favorite season now. I am looking forward to those bridgedays, where the sun is hot and sweat drips down my brow, the corn is green and tall, and I take the first bite of grilled mac and cheese and the first sip of cider slushie. Then go to water parks right on after that. Here's to wishing water parks would stay open even later. But hey, water parks get an extended season this year thanks to early Memorial Day and late Labor Day. Double whammy!
