because "your generation doesn't want to work and doesn't understand the grind"
at least according to my dad
So
Here is how my normal days go
- 4:20 AM wake up, first technical block: check theme park news, theme park blogging, study mathematics, PLCs, and embedded systems -- while getting ready for the gym
- 5:00 AM weight lifting
- 6:10 AM running (7 miles)
- mid morning: study IT/cybersecurity, work on labs and certifications while getting ready for work
- [8 hours] WORK
- during lunch: practice musical instruments and walk 1 mile
- during designated breaks: study languages, walk 1 mile
- after work: immediately launch into computer science studies and software engineering projects for at least 30 minutes
- ART: both 2D and 3D, working on my studies and projects, target is 1.25 hours
- WRITING: read and write, goal of 400-600 words
- cleaning and other chores
- meditation, outdoors
- GAMES: unwind with some games, then work on game development
- Plan for the next day, set goals, etc., get ready for bed.
- Study electrical engineering and control systems while in bed.
Some people are never going to be happy no matter what you do. There will always be something wrong with you. If I had zero complaints about my job, it would be why aren't you trying to move into management. If not that, then why aren't you married yet. If I was married, why don't you have kids yet. If I had kids, I would be judged about how I parented them.
The judgement is way worse from my dad than my mom, defying the Asian parent stereotypes.
What's weird is that at the same time, apparently I run too much and study too much. But I love running and I love studying. So I should just burn myself out for a company that will lay me off and get rid of me at the drop of a hat anyway?
I thought I was living in happy land
Then I woke up, it was all gone
but also
I will become somebody,
Not a waste of a body.
