NERFED: Ron Last Park and Wilkerson Farm :( Thanks, Utah.
Ron Last Park is gone. Replaced by townhomes. Now, I do rent an apartment, so I can't automatically hate townhomes, but this is garbage. It was a peaceful park at the end of Riverwoods. I loved to sit there in the warm seasons and draw in my sketchbook. There was a little path with a bench in the shade.
Now there's a loud robot that yells YOU ARE TRESPASSING AND BEING RECORDED in a very threatening voice if you venture too far along the supposedly public bike path that goes through the area.
Lovely.
Maybe I'm just one of those "NIMBYs" but I don't think my apartment complex, right off the interstate with cars going all night, took over any green spaces...
It looks like Wilkerson Farm is nerfed too -- rezoned for more housing. Stay classy, Utah. If I'm still here, I will be voting against every single representative who voted to nerf it. I don't care if it was inevitable or not. You reap what you sow, and I do not forgive easily.
We'll see if California does the same thing to its green and community spaces. California's Great America is still rumored to be getting the axe, so I can't necessarily put the state on a pedestal in that regard.
See why I say that all magic dies?
