Art viewing time again!

Really quick since I got behind today due to work being intense.

Found it on Cara via the Explore tab. Screenshot is easiest so we get the credit and the caption in too.

The first thing I notice about this is the perspective. For whatever reason, the way the cat is super close to the camera works really well.

Second, I love the dappling patterns from the tree that go down to the asphalt.

I use DAPPLING PATTERNS FROM THE TREES way too much in my writing, but much like caustics in a pool, it's one of my favorite effects to observe in nature.

The shading is blocky and has more of a quick-sketch feel (quick as an extremely, extremely relative term, this would have taken me forever at my current skill level!) and it works.

Depth. How are we getting depth here. Well, the dude's arm and leg that are farther from the camera are darker, but still have the same base hue. The suggestion of the same dappling pattern that we see on the ground is also on his body and clothing, but it's not a ton. Not enough to detract from the shading that gives the piece actual depth.

The background is nice and gives a feeling of a bustling world beyond the subject(s) without being distracting or drawing too much attention to itself.

And the faraway leg (for example) isn't all one hue. It still lightens as you get farther away from his body. More points for dimensionality effectively executed.

What would I change...I guess the cat's angles are a bit too harsh IMO. Like the leg and the tail feel kinda squarish.
